Body In White

A needed distraction. I decided to try the Starfighter-class with a painted hull, rather than the polished metal it has had up to this point - something a little more in keeping with the era in which it is intended .

I've enlarged the 'wing' pods - actually the final components of the nacelles that start up against the fuselage;  I thought they needed to be a little beefier for the model that I'm now working on of this ship (same scale as the original AMT Enterprise, it will be about 16" long when completed, to Enterprise's ~18"). As shown in previous art, this fuselage is about 70% of the diameter of Enterprise's secondary hull, and the pods are just about equal in spread to its nacelles. In other words, not a small ship . But purposeful!

BTW, that 'cockpit' actually contains a full-size bridge, based on the TOS 'standard' but with windows; those windows are about 4' tall .
