Surely, back in Vulcan's past, they have ancestral forms from which they evolved, just as we have Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon. Some Vulcan traditions are older than logic, and perhaps they were integrated into the path of logic as a sort of 'safety valve,'an acknowledgment and release of the primal self that even Vulcans can't entirely expunge nor deny.

Or this could all be an excuse to use my new hair ...

Pon Farr Arena by mdbruffy - I played around a bit with the materials to give it a bit more texture; the displacement on the sandy floor and fire pit turned out much better than I'd hoped .
