This is my entry for the TrekBBS September Challenge - "There's an App for That!"
Literally done at the eleventh hour - the deadline for the monthly challenges is midnight on the last day of the month, and I started this at 11:00 PM! Even then, I had no idea what kind of app I was going to try to create, but as soon as I had the upper header done, I thought about putting a search window in, and the first thing I thought to search for was ... well, obvious!
From there, it all came together.
Of course, I've had the TriComm for awhile, but I've been wanting to pursue the development of a viable TOS-appropriate OS for it, one that could also be used on tricorders, personal viewers, and even the screens on the bridge.
I'm still looking ...
(... and, yes, I realize this looks like I only spent an hour on it ...)

Appropriate, since too many associate the communicator with weak cell phones, rather than military-grade walkie-talkies [or perhaps sat-phones, if you want to stretch] which still have their range limits.
